Aircraft Sheetmetal Worker
We are looking for an experienced Aircraft Sheet Metalworker who is self-motivated and can work as part of a small team. You’ll be part of a small team working in the Station Workshops dedicated to supporting the flying task at RAF Valley.
What will you be doing?
• Manufacture and repair of Aeronautical/Non-Aeronautical parts in accordance with outlined processes, to a high standard.
• Heat treat metal for manufacture or repair of aircraft parts and have a good working knowledge of the heat treatment process.
• Download data from the heat treatment oven to a standalone computer.
• Manufacture jigs for producing aircraft parts.
• Use power tools/air tools.
• Manufacture of panels, repair plates and fittings for repair of Mechanical Transport vehicles and ground support equipment.

Warehouse Operative (Material Accountant)
We are looking for an experienced Material Accountant to join our team based in Tewkesbury, to assist in the completion of our warehouse operations. This will include the fulfilment of Receipt, Store, Maintain & Issue (RSMI). Moreover, it will include the additional responsibilities of data management and forecasting. This will involve liaising with the Workshop, Warehouse and Office staff to accept goods and returns back to the depot.
What will you be doing?
- Managing material demands placed by Scopers and other stakeholders ensuring the correct scrutiny is conducted
- Managing and ensuring co-ordination of materiel demands and the creation of Bills Of Material (BOMs)
- Liaising with Production and Planning on materiel requirements and availability.
- Ensuring that Stock Available For Issue (SAFI) is managed
- Liaising with Procurement and the Authority on spares availability and follow the COSL process to highlight the shortage of critical spares
- Providing accurate material availability forecasts with regards to location, batch control, life expiry and stocktake
The experience you’ll bring
- Previous experience in a Stores/Warehouse environment
- Understanding of supply chain
- Accuracy of data input and material processing
- Strong IT and administration skills
- Knowledge of ERP systems (Highly Desirable: MJDI, JAMES, VITAL, BAAN, MIS, ISIS, MMiT and SAP)

Panel Line Team Member
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate previous welding experience, including experience of SMAW, GSFCAW, GTAW and SAW welding processes and be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
What will you be doing?
The main and primary responsibility of your role is to be trained & able to run automated & semi-automated multiple work stations as part of a production line process.

Sheetmetal Trainer – A&G
Main Responsibilities
Provide sheetmetal training to up to 16 learners – theoretical and practical, 10% Classroom based 90% Practical workshop training
Assessment of trainees, this will include written and practical examination.
Marking of examination papers and practical work.
You will need to maintain a Continuous Personal Development (CPD) portfolio in respect of new teaching, technologies and equipment available. Ensuring that lesson plans and training sessions are developed and are in accordance with the current standards.
There may be an occasional need for you to support and repair live training aids using your trade skills through the equipment support department (ESD).
What do I need to do the role?
You will ideally hold a City & Guilds Level 3/NVQ L3 Apprenticeship in sheetmetal working or similar fabircation experience, or a Class 1 Metalsmith/Shipwright course in REME, or a Royal Engineers Welder/Fabricator equivalent or Royal Navy/Royal Air Force equivalent or be qualified by trade experience.
Strong hand tooling skills within sheetmetal work.
A level 4 Certificate in education and training (CET) is required for the role. Those who do not hold the required qualification will be offered the course at Babcock’s expense and mentored through the program.
You will also need to be eligible to receive and maintain UK SC level security clearance for this post.
What else do I need to know?
The interview process will consist of trade tests in sheetmetal work
The second part of the interview will be a planned 15 minute lesson usually delivered in conjunction with a PowerPoint and in front of 3-4 others to see if you demonstrate the basic requirements of delivery.
