Engineer – Design

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or similar)
• Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience as a structural/mechanical design engineer in machinery or steel structures
• Experience in 3D modelling and 2D drafting, e.g. using Creo

Responsibilities

• Interface with internal and external stakeholders to support project delivery within the agreed timelines and cost
• Develop the tools’ concept in order to effectively and safely transport, construct and maintain the wind turbine’s towers
• Design the tools (3D and 2D)
• Assess the tools’ structural integrity in accordance with international standards either by methodical or finite element methods
• Create HSE risk assessments

Competencies

• Good knowledge of structural mechanics 
• Good knowledge of materials and their specification, especially steel
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Experience using Eurocode 3 is an added advantage
• Experience with transport or construction operations is an added advantage
• Experience in the wind industry is an added advantage
