Reliability technical lead for new systems/product/component design, development, product changes, feature enhancements, and technology optimization of PV tracker electronics and power systems. You will own cradle to grave ownership of product quality and reliability and cost effectively maximize performance criteria over the product lifecycle utilize the
Promptly and effectively manage activities such as integrating functional and reliability specifications, facilitating productive design reviews, FMEAs, parts application, design analysis, risk mitigation through analysis / qualification testing, specifying supplier ORT and control plans, support customer/field issue resolution, enforcement of preventative/corrective actions, drive engineering/suppliers to improve their processes and products while optimizing cost and schedules to meet FTC Solar objectives.
Identify/design tests and specify test requirements to qualify suppliers of sub systems/components to meet performance, regulatory and reliability requirements. Specify HALT, ALT, characterization tests, environmental reliability tests, etc. and drive relevant changes to design to satisfy cost, product performance and test requirements.
Must be able to interface with external labs and agencies/suppliers & complete testing/analysis to satisfy product performance and test requirements by defining project scope of work, identifying critical reporting metrics, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely execution and gathering of quality actionable data from external test labs or customers.
Generate and effectively communicate status updates, detailed reports and whitepapers to both internal and external customers. Perform data analysis using tools such as Excel, Jmp, PowerBI, Tableau etc. Utilize Jmp / python scripts, ML where possible for automation.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/ Electronics/Mechanical required with emphasis in controls and electro-mechanical systems. ASQ CRE certification preferred.
Two (2) to four (4) years of progressive experience with emphasis in Systems Reliability, Reliability test or qualification related work in PV/ Energy/ Utility/ Telecommunications or other relevant industry.
The ideal candidate has a firm grasp of electronics design and reliability optimization, product qualification, accelerated test methods, product application, problem solving and analysis.
Requires demonstrated experience in design qualification testing of control electronics, power electronics or battery systems, FMEA/FTA application, application of reliability growth techniques, maintainability and reliability estimation work.

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent/higher with 6 or more years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering of Solar Tracker Systems or Industrial Systems. Experience in heavy engineering Mechanical Systems can apply.
