Designation: Process Engineer
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Manage Process Engineering during development phase of the product.
- Ensure the process is designed and implemented in line with the industrial requirements and the QCD objectives of the project.
- Is the main industrialization contact for all other functions of the project, and thus represent PME department within the project.
During specification and preliminary design phases:
- Make sure that Industrial requirements are well understood and taken into account by Engineering, during product specification and design. Effectively drive and run the Design Review meetings and ensure Design for Manufacturing.
- Monitor concurrent engineering activities with his Engineering counterpart.
- Design the global macroprocess, based on standard Manufacturing Practices.
- Prepare introduction of new technologies if need be, with associated process validation plan.
- Build the plan for tooling and other specific manufacturing equipment.
- Build the IMP (Industrial Management Plan) to decide the requirements to setup manufacturing infrastructure with right capacities.
- Set up the industrialization planning including all activities: Concurrent engineering activities, PFMEA, deliverables milestones, First Article review and Inspection.
- Build the IMFU (Industrial Maturity Followup) with detailed list of Toolings and infrastructure (EMFU) with timelines to plan, procure and commission.
- Set up and monitor the Industrialization Work Package: Man hours and manufacturing equipment budget.
During detailed design phase and before Serial Go:
- Manage the industrialization activity using right process documents.
- Perform PFMEA.
- Ensure that industrial documentation is issued in due time with the good quality level.
- Participate to validation of prototypes if any.
- Monitor the process cycle times vs target.
- Ensure the availability of tools and workstations on schedule and consistent with EHS requirements, ergonomics and quality.
- Lead First Article review and inspection activities in order to validate product design and process industrialization.
- Provide due feedback to Engineering based on the Pre Serial Manufactuing and ensure the changes are implemetned in design.
- Deploy effective Change managenet process and with right Engineering change releases to manufacturing site.
After serial Go:
- Manage industrialization of the retrofit after engineering changes.
- Contribute to build continuous improvement action plan along with Production to achieve manufacturing QCD targets.
Other activities:
- Contributes to industrial costing during
- Perform industrial REX on manufacturing processes.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
- Experience in Industrial or equivalent motor component manufacturing and assembly processes(Above 200 KW).
- Deep dive and solve quality issues in Motor Manufacturing processes
- Establish Process capability on motor manufacturing processes
- Exposure in reviewing the CMM inspection reports on Machined motor components
- Experience in preparation of Machine specification documents for Motor manufacturing
- Performing Machine Inspection, trials at supplier and machine clearance
- Machine Installation and commissioning at shop.
- Layout design and Capacity planning.
- Active in process design for motor manufacturing based on design drawings from Engineering.
- Experience in Vacuum Pressure Impregnation, Induction Brazing, Ovens, Hydraulic presses, Assembly SPMs
- Strong knowledge on NPI Stage Gate process (APQP is a must)
- Manufacturing Engineering/Process Engineering background with 5 to 8 years of experience preferably in Auto or railway industry.
- Experience in General Assembly process.
- Technical experience of Process Engineering, developing manufacturing work instructions, line balancing.
- Design Review Skills with experience in deploying DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly)
- Experience in Reading/Preparing Engineering Drawing with GD&T (Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerance)
- Knowledge of Jigs and Fixture Design/Manufacturing
- Productivity improvement and Cost saving techniques
- Lean Manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma tools.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience in working with an ERP (such as SAP) for Bill of Materials, Routings, Configuration followup
- Working knowledge in Quality, EHS standards and Ergonomics.
- Knowledge of CAD and PLM tools (CATIA, DELMIA…)
- Familiar with IT common tools.
- Process FMEA, 8D/ QRQC.
EXPERIENCE / SKILL SET
- Experience in Manufacturing / Process Engineering, Fixture design and manufacturing: 5 years Min
- Language Skills: Proficient in English language,

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer Quality
§ Be the interface with the Design site and ToT team and RS site Quality team.
Project Quality
- Establish the Project Quality plan and ensure the proper application during contract execution in accordance to the contract requirements, and to the Alstom processe§s
- Knowledge of stage wise and end of line testing of rotating machines.
- Good understanding of brazing, welding, machining & fabrication.
- Understanding of insulations and IEC 60034.
- Support the project / ToT manager to prepare gate reviews & follow up related action plans
Project execution controls
- Support the project teams mainly the SSM/PM to prepare gate reviews & follow up related action plans
- Report quality and safety alerts
- Ensure quality of the modifications made during the project
- Ensure that safety assessment is correctly implemented (i.e.: SRIL)
- Control project deliverables compliance through inspection and audits (FAR-FMR-SMR, other customer audits)- to authorize presentation / delivery to customer
- Ensure REX process for motors.
- Measure and improve project quality performance
- Manage line issues with problem solving approch (8D).
- Make sure that Engineering team is included in Customer issues solving process(if needed).
Qualifications & Skills:
- B.E. (Electrical ) with more than 12 years’ experience in managing Quality tools & Problem solving.
- Experience in handling Project Quality deliverables such as Gate reviews, First article inspection etc.,
- Experience in PFMEA & Control plan
- Expericance on special process validation.
- Awareness on Processes and Products delivered in the project
- Experience in operational activities and in documentation management
- Collaboration and team working
- Knowledge on Six Sigma Green Belt would be add on.
