Position description:
The job requires delivering target ergonomics performance in 3 & 4 wheeler projects. The job involves providing inputs related to Ergonomics to design through simulations as well as physical verification of the design by testing prototypes for ergonomics performance like comfort, reach, visibility, usability, etc. This role will provide an opportunity to work with a specialized ergonomics team and to interact with designers, system and vehicle engineers dealing with new technology and systems for design of 3 & 4 wheeler projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver target ergonomics performance like comfort, reach, visibility, usability etc. in 3 & 4 wheeler projects.
- Evaluate design of vehicle with respect to human interaction using ergonomic principles to optimize usability, cost, quality, safety and performance
- Carry out simulations for ergonomics performance like comfort, reach, accessibility, usability visibility, etc., considering anthropometric variations through software tools
- Verify design through physical testing of prototypes for ergonomics performance based on standards though subjective and objective measurements
- Prepare reports and presentations on simulations and testing to identify gaps in ergonomics performance and recommendations to improve the performance
- Collaborate with other teams to integrate ergonomics requirements into design to ensure delivery of target ergonomics performance.
- Benchmark competitor vehicles to assess ergonomics performance and help set targets for ergonomics performance.
- Conduct interviews or surveys of users or customers to collect information on requirements, needs, preferences, or interfaces to help set targets on ergonomics performance
- Carry out research to develop new knowledge related to ergonomics of 3 & 4 wheeler designs
- Develop standards for testing and simulation as well as update existing standards based on new knowledge developed both though internal research as well as research carried out by scientific Community
- Maintain ergonomics laboratory and develop new rigs, facilities for testing
